Networking That Works: Building Connections Through Collaboration & Trust
Day 5 of Clarity & Creativity
Networking & Grow Together Marketing
Welcome to Day 5 of 12 Days of Clarity and Creativity! Today, we’re exploring networking—not the cold, impersonal version that gives everyone the ick, but the authentic, meaningful kind that creates mutual growth.
Most of my most rewarding opportunities came not from perfecting my social media presence or attending endless networking events but through what I call “Grow Together Marketing.” This philosophy focuses on building genuine relationships and working collaboratively to lift each other up. Let’s dive in!
Why Networking Matters:
Networking isn’t just about handing out business cards or gaining followers—it’s about cultivating trust and collaborating to create mutual opportunities. When done intentionally, networking helps you:
Build Community: Find your people—those who share your values and can help you grow.
Foster Collaboration: Create opportunities to learn from others and build together.
Amplify Impact: Extend your reach by aligning with others who can introduce you to new audiences.
The Power of Grow Together Marketing:
I recently collaborated with a group of writers organized by
to create a horror and sci-fi anthology. We pooled our talents and added short stories and poems. We are presently leveraging each other’s networks or the “network effect,” (a concept often talks about)1 and are growing together. This experience showed me the value of shared purpose and mutual effort. Check out my review of the first 6 stories here:Prior to that
organized a bunch of us to build a press release which she titled the “amplify list.” With her excellent guidance, we wrote up a synopsis of our articles and then shared each others work across our page. Check out my article which amplifies each author.I also leverage this network effect when I invite people to be on my podcast and we talk about their business. I often learn something about building my own business from them and they often learn from me as well. I recently learned a lot from
about Chat GPT and that we can create little GPT’s to help us with our projects. I’m editing that episode now. We then share the video across our platforms and grow together. I mean win-win for everyone! Here’s how Grow Together Marketing works:
